Led Zeppelin 1

Led Zeppelin’s iconic debut album from 1969 features a nice bold font for the logo that appears in the top left corner of the album sleeve, which also portrays the tragic ending of the Hindenburg airship disaster.

Here’s a scan of the logo from the rear sleeve:

first impression is that the font used is Futura Extra Black, which gives a very close rendition apart from the ‘Z’ which features sharp angular corners:

a closer example typeface, and one which is freely available is Bowlby One, this is very close apart from the ‘D’ which isn’t quite thick enough, but overall it’s still a very good representation
