I particularly like the lettering style used on Jeff Beck’s ‘Truth’ album from 1968. It’s very clean and effective and striking on the laminated black gloss background of the album sleeve.
The designer has ‘cheated’ a little though, as the lower case ‘j’ should descend below the baseline of the ‘eff’ in Jeff, but then it’s been nicely manipulated to fit in the space created between the ‘b’ and ‘k’ characters in ‘beck’ to give an aesthetically pleasing result.
The closest representation comes with the font Franklin Gothic Book. The lower case j has to have the dot lowered to replicate the style of the album cover and baseline shifted to raise it to match the rest of the word ‘jeff’, the curve of the bowl isn’t quite long enough but the rest of the lettering is a very close copy:
